Work From Home Chat Jobs: 10 Companies Hiring Now (No Phone Required!)
If you've ever thought, "I would love a work-from-home job, but I cannot be on the phone with a house full of kids" — friend, this list is for you. 🙋♀️
I get it because I live it. Phone jobs come with background-noise rules, and my house does not do quiet on command. Chat and email jobs are different: you type, you help people, and nobody hears the cartoon playing in the next room. You can work a shift while the baby naps, answer messages between loads of laundry, and never once have to shush anybody.
So I rounded up 10 real companies hiring for chat and email support right now — no phone required. A few are part-time, a few are seasonal (perfect for Christmas money), and a few pay surprisingly well for typing jobs. Some are limited to certain states, and I flagged those big and clear so you don't waste time applying somewhere you can't work.
Quick note: I checked every one of these on November 3, 2026 and they were open then. Work-from-home jobs can close fast, so if one you love is gone, check back — and peek at my daily fresh remote jobs list, which I update with new openings.
💬 The 10 Chat & Email Jobs
1. Novig — Customer Experience Specialist (Seasonal) — $25/hr
This one is live chat and email only, helping customers for a sports prediction platform. It's full-time seasonal at 40 hours a week, with day shifts or night/weekend shifts available, and they don't list a degree or experience minimum. Benefits include a 401(k) match, which you don't see on every seasonal gig.

2. Remember The Milk — Customer Support Specialist (Part-Time) — $30–$35/hr
The popular to-do list app is hiring for written support — inbox, forums, and social media, no phones at all. It's remote worldwide (yes, US included), about 15 hours a week with up to 5 optional extra hours. You apply by email with your resume plus a short writing exercise, so let your personality show in that writing sample.

4. Sleeper — F2P Customer Success Associate — pay not listed
Sleeper is a fantasy sports app, and this full-time US-remote role covers email, chat, and social support. No degree or experience minimum is listed, but you do need weeknight and weekend availability — sports fans keep late hours. If you already live in fantasy football group chats, this is basically that, but paid.

5. Supporting Cast — Podcast Support Specialist — $19–$22/hr
Part-time, US-remote email support for podcast listeners — helping with subscriptions, billing questions, and app setup. They'd like 1–2 years of support experience. If you're a podcast person, helping other listeners troubleshoot is about as low-stress as support work gets.

6. CoreBridge — Customer Support Representative — pay not listed
Fully remote in the US, and they consider both full-time and part-time — that flexibility is rare, so part-time mamas take note. The work is email, chat, and support tickets, plus writing help guides. Experience is a plus but not required.

7. Whatnot — Trust & Safety Agent — $24.04–$28.85/hr — ⚠️ ARIZONA: must live within 50 miles of the Phoenix hub
Whatnot is the live-shopping app, and this full-time role helps keep the platform safe. It is remote, but only if you live within 50 miles of Phoenix, AZ — please don't apply from elsewhere, it won't go through. Weekends and holidays are part of the schedule, and they want 1–5 years of relevant experience.

8. Drips — Chatroom Operator — $10–$13/hr — ⚠️ OHIO or TEXAS only
This is the simplest chat job on the list: you read incoming texts and pick the right prepared response — no freestyle typing, no phones. It's part-time up to 27 hours a week, Ohio or Texas residents only, and you'll need strong typing and grammar plus your own computer. Lower pay, but about as beginner-friendly as it gets.

9. Reformation — Seasonal Customer Love Associate — $17.60–$18.65/hr — ⚠️ GEORGIA only
The clothing brand Reformation is hiring seasonal help for email, text, and chat support. It's part-time, 8–29 hours a week, and Georgia residents only. Seasonal retail support is a great way to earn extra Christmas money without committing to a year-round schedule.

🔎 How I Find These (So You Can Too)
Two tricks that actually work: first, go straight to a company's own careers page and search with "work from home" in quotes — the quotes keep the results tight instead of pulling up every job with the word "home" in it. Second, check Upwork for chat and email support gigs — smaller businesses post short-term support contracts there all the time, and a few good reviews can turn into steady clients.
