Overnight Work From Home Jobs: 16 Legit Ways to Earn While the House Sleeps

🏠 Networking Mama home · 🔥 Today's Deals · 💛 Start Here — all my links

If your house finally goes quiet at 9 PM and that's when your workday could start, this list is for you. I hear from mamas every week who can only work nights — kids are up all day, a day job eats the daylight hours, or a partner's schedule means somebody has to be "on" with the kids until bedtime. Overnight work-from-home jobs are harder to find than daytime ones, but they do exist.

I've pulled together 16 legit companies that offer evening, late-night, or genuinely flexible hours you can work while the house sleeps — plus the two platforms I work through myself, and the app work that runs on nobody's clock but yours. One honest note up front: a company running 24/7 does not mean every opening has overnight hours. Always confirm the shift on the specific job posting before you get your hopes up. Listings checked October 30, 2026 — openings and shifts change fast.

Start Here: The Two Platforms I Work Through Myself

Working Solutions — This is one of my actual income streams. I'm an independent contractor, and I pick my own work blocks in short increments, which is exactly the kind of control night-owl mamas need. Program hours vary by client, and some run extended evening hours. Apply to Working Solutions here (that's my referral link — thank you!).

Arise — The other platform I use. Also independent-contractor work with self-scheduled blocks for big-name clients. When you register, use my CSPID 5047661 so they know I sent you, and start at arise.com.

The Overnight & Evening List: 16 Companies

1. Smith.ai — Remote virtual receptionists answering calls for businesses around the clock. Pay starts at $15/hour for US-based agents. Check the current opening for overnight availability. Apply at Smith.ai.

2. Tutor.com — Online tutoring (lots of math: algebra, calculus, statistics, geometry). Tutors log in when they're available, so late-evening sessions after your kids are down can work. Part-time, $14–$22/hour. Apply at Tutor.com.

3. LiveWorld — Social media agents: responding to customers online and moderating brand pages. Hours can include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Part-time, US-based, 18+. See the LiveWorld agent job.

4. LiveOps — A longtime work-from-home name and a common first step into phone work. You're an independent contractor and schedule yourself in blocks as short as 30 minutes. Some programs pay by talk time, so a slow overnight queue can pay less — worth knowing going in. Apply at LiveOps.

5. NexRep — Independent-contractor projects with flexible scheduling. Not every project runs overnight — readers report many run roughly 9 AM–9 PM — so confirm night hours on the project you pick. Some inbound sales projects pay commissions. Apply at NexRep.

6. Alorica — Customer support roles, and these are employee positions (not contractor), with pay and benefits set by the role. Shifts depend on the opening, so search specifically for evening/overnight schedules. Hires in the US and Canada. Apply at Alorica.

7. Transcom — Tech support and customer care as an employee, paid hourly. They've had projects with overnight hours; once your schedule is set it tends to stay set, so landing the night shift from the start matters. Apply at Transcom.

8. Alignerr — Freelance AI training for people with real expertise (coding, STEM, research, audio). Work is flexible and remote, but project availability is unpredictable — treat it as supplemental income, not a primary paycheck. Apply at Alignerr.

9. Translate.com — Remote translation work you log into whenever you want — true night-friendly work if you're bilingual. You'll pass a short language test (about 10–15 minutes), and you can cash out once you've earned $20. Apply at Translate.com.

10. AnswerNet — Customer service, sales, and support. Some of their services run around the clock, so evening and overnight openings do come up — confirm the shift on the posting. Full-time and part-time, US and Canada. Apply at AnswerNet.

11. AccessNurse — For RNs: telephone triage from home for a 24/7 medical call center. Evening and weekend shifts are regular here. You'll need an RN license and triage experience; pay and eligible states vary by opening. Apply at AccessNurse.

12. Headspace — Remote mental-health roles, including licensed therapists; some openings specifically welcome evening or weekend availability. Pay varies by role and location, and therapist contracts pay per session. See Headspace openings.

13. United Language Group — Over-the-phone interpreters, needed around the clock in many languages. Freelance, and your overnight availability depends on demand for your language. Apply at United Language Group.

14. Datavio.ai — Linguists, translators, transcribers, annotators, and data labelers. Open worldwide, full-time or part-time, work whenever you want — another genuinely any-hour option. Some tasks need pre-qualification. Apply at Datavio.ai.

15. QKids — Teach English online to kids in China. Because of the time difference, US hours are mostly early mornings, with some Friday/Saturday evening slots — so think "up before the house" more than overnight. $12–$16/hour for 30-minute lessons; bachelor's degree and a TESOL/TEFL-type certificate required. Apply at QKids.

16. Advanis — Remote telephone research interviewers (surveys — no sales) for evenings and weekends in Canada. Training is fully paid. Apply at Advanis.

Work That Runs on YOUR Clock (No Shift at All)

If even a "flexible" shift is too much structure, these two lanes truly don't care what hour it is:

Chore-recording apps. I get paid to record myself cleaning my own home through apps like Contracted AI, micro1, Amelia, Shift, HighFive Tasks, and Visora. Nobody schedules you — if your free hour is 11 PM, that's when you record. Every app's referral terms are laid out evenly on my Start Here page.

AI training platforms. Outlier, Handshake AI, and Mercor pay experts and generalists to train AI models on flexible, project-based schedules — classic work-at-2-AM-if-you-want work. Start at Outlier, Handshake AI, or Mercor.

Night-shift mamas, I see you. Bookmark this page — I update my lists as openings change, and the Start Here page always has the current version of everything I'm working.
